OSHA Consulting
In recent years, the Federal Government and the State of Michigan have enacted a series of laws designed to ensure the safety of dental health care professionals and their patients. These regulations have placed the dental profession in the challenging position of having to meet numerous Exposure Control Protocol, Hazard Communication and Medical Waste Management requirements. At RDH we understand this challenge and have designed a consultation service that assists your office in ensuring the necessary measures are taken to establish compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and the Michigan Department of Public Health. Customized Service: We will evaluate the compliance level of your office and work with you to choose one of three basic plans which are then adapted to suit the unique needs of your practice. Plan A consists of a compliance assessment and evaluation, Plan B provides personalized employee training seminars on compliance issues, and Plan C is a comprehensive compliance assistance program.

HIPAA Consulting
The federal government mandate is for healthcare providers who file electronic information to begin implementation of the HIPAA Privacy Standard by April 2003. The HIPAA Privacy rule states that every healthcare organization covered under HIPAA is required to train all members of its workforce on its privacy practices. The task of providing such complex training and implementation to so many individuals does not have to be overwhelming for your practice. RDH Health Services provides initial HIPAA training, on-site implementation, and provides products and standard forms to meet all your compliance needs.

In-Office Assistant Training
An RDH staff member will meet with the dentist and employee and individualize a training program that will fulfill your needs. Our staff person then begins a mirroring training program that allows the employee to observe, perform, and be evaluated on each step of training. This system keeps the office working with normal scheduling, enables the new employee to work in the dental environment, and offers the employer the opportunity to have direct input into training. The program runs for a minimum of three weeks and includes:
- Chairside procedures: restorative, endodontic, crown & bridge
- Sterilization and disinfection procedures: infection control, hazard communication, waste management
- Dental terminology, instrument identification
- Chairside assisting: instrument transfer, suction placement, positioning
- Basic lab procedures
