Policy of Temporary Employment
RDH Health Services strives to remain the forerunner in the Dental Employment Services Industry. One factor that has contributed to our strong performance in this field is our communication of our policies to our employees. We have structured our policies in such a manner that they successfully address the needs of both our clients and our employees. A sample of our expectations:
- As an employee of RDH Health Services, you are never asked to compromise either your professional integrity or professional standards on any assignment.
- As an employee of RDH Health Services, once you accept an assignment, you are expected to honor the commitment.
- You are assured of a minimum 4-hour assignment. If the dental office chooses to dismiss the employee before this 4-hour minimum has been met, the office is still responsible for payment of 4 hours of the employee's time.
- If during a workday a patient cancellation should occur, the RDH employee will offer to assist the office in another capacity.
- The only negotiable hour of employment is the last scheduled hour. We ask that our employees do not attempt to negotiate a long lunch or other break, and that they do not leave their assignment early.
- As an employee of RDH Health Services, you are required to notify us if you are offered a permanent position from a temporary assignment. Promptly discuss with us your thoughts regarding any such offer.
What is expected of an RDH employee?
As an employee of RDH Health Services, you are responsible for presenting a professional image of yourself at all times. On assignments, you will be representing RDH Health Services, as well as your profession and yourself. Thus, we ask that you conduct yourself according to the highest standards of professionalism.
- Always report to your assignment appropriately attired, and neatly groomed.
- Please report to your assignment at least 15 minutes before the first patient and be prepared with questions pertinent to the duties you will be expected to perform that day.
- In case of an emergency which will prevent you from reporting to a scheduled assignment, you must contact the following parties and notify them of your situation:
- An RDH placement staff person. Direct contact must be made with them. If the emergency schedule change occurs after business hours, please call the RDH emergency number and contact an "on call" consultant immediately.
- The dental office where you were assigned. Please explain the emergency situation and inform them that you have contacted our service.
What should you expect of RDH?
- All RDH Health Services' staff will be both attentive and responsive to any concerns or needs that you may have during the time you are employed by us.
- Every effort will be made to accommodate your scheduling needs.
- We will be an accurate resource of information concerning employment in the dental profession.
- We will assist you in obtaining temporary and permanent employment.
Temporary Employment Procedures
At RDH Health Services, we feel that it is important to introduce you to the procedures that you will follow as an employee of our employment agency:
Confirmation Procedure: Once you have accepted the assignment offered to you, we will immediately confirm your placement with the dental office. However, we ask that you re-confirm the assignment with the office a day or two before you are scheduled to work. Please take this opportunity to review directions to the office, and reconfirm your scheduled arrival time.
Timecard Procedure: RDH employees are required to record the hours they work each week on timecards, which will be provided by RDH Health Services. One timecard is to be used for each office the employee is assigned to in a given week.
Payroll Procedure: At RDH employee salaries are based on an hourly pay scale which has been established according to:
- The dental experience of each employee
- The average wage which is paid to employees of similar qualifications in the Metropolitan Detroit area. Payroll distributions are conducted on a bi-weekly basis. You will be paid for your services in the timeliest of manners.
Permanent Placement
We would like you to work with our service to find permanent employment. We conduct interviews, check references, and research employment opportunities saving you time and effort. The goal is to find the right job for the right person.
Here are the two options that are available for our permanent placement procedures:
- Permanent employment offered upon completion of the interviewing process
- Three month temporary employment to permanent placement conversion
RDH Health Services prides itself on the high level of attention we devote to our employees. We realize that everyone's employment needs are different and we will use our best efforts to assist you in securing employment. We will work as an intermediary between you and the dental office in order to ensure that the most satisfactory permanent placement arrangements are made for all parties involved. You will be given written documentation of the employment agreement.
