Radiology Training for the Dental Assistant (2 day course)




This two-day course fulfills the Board of Dentistry requirement for dental assisting training.
Three months dental experience is required.
Day One is held at the RDH Health Services classroom at 575 E. Big Beaver - Level 3 Classroom.
Day Two is held at a dental office at 28633 Hoover in Warren on the west side of Hoover between 11 & 12 Mile Roads.
Description:
This two-day course fulfills the Board of Dentistry requirement for dental assisting training. On Day-1, participants will learn to identify the components of x-ray film exposure and processing, the physical characteristics of x-ray production and how to control their effects on radiographs, radiation health and safety, and infection control techniques. After completion of the lecture on Day-2, individual hands-on instruction is provided. Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of the entire program.
Instructor:
JoAnn Buchheister, CDA, RDA, is owner of Macomb Dental Education Center. She has over 25 years experience as a chairside assistant, office manager, and educator. She currently teaches dental assisting at Wayne County Community College.
